Technology company TeamEQ settles in Asturias for international expansion

This move is the result of the Asturias Government’s Investment Attraction Strategy. TeamEQ proposes an investment of 2.3 million euros and the creation of 18 highly qualified jobs in two years.

The international technology company TeamEQ has just completed its move to Asturias. This movement is framed within the Investment Attraction Strategy of the Asturian Regional Government, materialised through the joint work of the Economic Development Agency (IDEPA) and the Regional Promotion Society of the Principality of Asturias (SRP).

Created between Silicon Valley and Barcelona, TeamEQ plans to develop its international expansion from Asturias. Its growth strategy involves an investment of 2.3 million euros and the creation of 18 highly qualified jobs in two years.

The financial support from the Government of Asturias to TeamEQ comes via the Support Line for the Attraction of Emerging Industries launched in December 2020 by the SRP and endowed with 4 million euros.

“We take this step into Asturias with great enthusiasm because together we can contribute to listening to the local ecosystem and see how we can move towards something new, attract talent, bring back to the region those who have left and have a voice in the global economy,” said Francesca Gabetti, co-founder and CEO of the company, during the presentation of the new headquarters in Gijón.

Cutting-edge Machine Learning in Asturias

TeamEQ is a digital platform that helps companies measure and improve the performance of their teams through a pioneering and unique combination of systemic approach and Machine Learning algorithms.

It has developed an online tool designed to support the cultural and digital transformation of today’s organisations. Gabetti explains that the company has “the challenge of supporting new ways of working towards a more sustainable industry”.

During the presentation ceremony, the Regional Minister of Industry, Employment and Economic Promotion of the Government of Asturias, Enrique Fernández, said that the knowledge industry is having a relevant development in our region. Accompanied by the manager director of IDEPA, Eva Pando, Fernández added that this industry “generates economic activity and highly qualified jobs in highly innovative sectors, which reinforce the productive capacities of the Principality in traditional sectors”.

La Pipa, open innovation in Gijón

TeamEQ joins the Bedrock Intelligence and Mind Facilities Management projects at the La Pipa facilities, which have also received financial support from the SRP. These three companies, benefited from public funding amounting to 1.5 million euros, will carry out investments in Asturias that will exceed 5 million euros with expected job creation of around 60 jobs, all of them highly qualified.

La Pipa, located in the Gijón neighbourhood of Somió, is becoming a space and platform for open innovation and home to some of Europe’s best talent in various disciplines. It brings together initiatives in artificial intelligence, robotics, data, music and entertainment, media, technology and sustainability through the design of diverse and disruptive businesses, services and experiences.

ICT and creative industries in Asturias

The Asturian industrial fabric has undergone a radical transformation in recent years, in which advanced services have moved into the spotlight. In this new economic reality, the information and communication technology sector (ICT) deserves a special mention.

Asturias welcomes Spanish and foreign companies alike, which have moved to the region, in particular over the last decade, playing a significant role in employment in the sector. TeamEQ, Bedrock Intelligence and Mind Facilities Management are the perfect examples of this strategy.
