This week Asturias hosted the 3rd Meeting of Spanish European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs)

The AsDIH organised this annual meeting of representatives of all the European digital innovation hubs in the country on 15 and 16 October at the As5HUB building in Gijón. The aim of this meeting is to promote cooperation, jointly addressing doubts and transferring good practices.

To this end, case studies, presentations, working groups and even a guided visit to the CTIC Foundation were carried out.

Asturias, centre of digital innovation in the country. On 15 and 16 October, Gijón hosted the 3rd Meeting of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) at national level. Representatives of hubs from all the autonomous communities met in the As5HUB building of the Gijón Science and Technology Park with a clear goal: to promote cooperation, addressing doubts jointly and transferring good practices.

The meeting, organised by the Asturias Digital Innovation Hub (AsDIH) with the support of the Digital Innovation Hub of Galicia (DIHGIGAL), served to advance in the coordination and unification of criteria for the provision of services to SMEs within the framework of the Support Programme for Digital Innovation Hubs (PADIH).

It was also a point of union and sharing of good practices, experiences, success stories of different types of collaboration between different EDIHs, as well as ways to further explore cooperation between EDIHs from different territories. All this by means of exhibitions, presentations, exchange groups, a speed dating section – to briefly present particular situations between peers – and even a guided visit to the CTIC Asturias Foundation.

The second day was also attended by Helena Rodrigues, PO, DG Connect, of the European Commission, and Yolanda Alcalá. PO, DG Connect, of the European Commission, Yolanda Alcalá. The meeting was closed by Iván Aitor Lucas del Amo, Director General of Innovation, Research and Digital Transformation of the Regional Ministry of Science, Business, Training and Employment of Asturias.

The next meeting will be held in Galicia in 2025.


The European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) are one-stop-shops that support businesses and public sector organisations to respond to digital challenges and become more competitive.

PADIH is the call launched by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationUE Funds in the framework of the Spanish Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and managed by the Escuela de Organización Industrial -EOI.
