Asturian Economic Office in Madrid is launched with a plan focused on identifying investment opportunities in Asturias

The agreement’s monitoring committee holds its first meeting to analyse medium-term plans with a view to opening the headquarters in the first four months of next year

The Asturias Economy and Trade Office in Madrid has already begun to operate with the first rounds of meetings of the director of the department, José Luis Huerta, with companies and institutions in the capital. This afternoon, the Regional Minister for Science, Business, Training and Employment, Borja Sánchez, chaired the first meeting of the monitoring committee of the agreement signed between the Principality, the chambers of commerce, the Asturian Federation of Entrepreneurs (Fade) and Compromiso Asturias XXI, to analyse the short and medium-term plans.

The director of the office has presented an operational plan focused on the main mission of the entity: the identification of opportunities to attract investment to Asturias. The minister indicated that the office ‘is already up and running’ and specified that in addition to attracting investors, another of the objectives is to serve as a showcase for Asturias in the capital, which can make visible ‘the strengths that we have as a region’.

Regarding the future headquarters of the office, the councillor indicated that the planned deadlines are being met so that it can open in the first four months of next year and reminded that the building, in addition to the office, will also be a meeting place for different institutions.
