Alisys y US Ghost Robotics instalarán una planta de robots en Asturias

Asturian Alisys joins forces with US Ghost Robotics to set up a robot assembly plant in Asturias

The strategic alliance between the two companies will boost the application of quadruped robotics-based solutions in Europe and North Africa.

The Asturian company Alisys, specialised in service robotics solutions, has signed a strategic alliance with the US company Ghost Robotics that includes the installation of a robot assembly plant in Asturias.

The agreement between the two technology companies will boost the application of quadruped robotics-based solutions in Europe and North Africa.

The plant to be set up in Asturias will be dedicated to assembly, technical support and maintenance tasks, with the aim of adapting the production of the US manufacturer’s robots to the European environment.

In the search for a location for the robot plant, Alisys has the support and involvement of the Regional Ministry of Science, Enterprise, Training and Employment, through Invest in Asturias – Sekuens Agency. “We had looked at several locations, but here we have found a favourable environment and much more collaboration than in the other places we had checked,” said Eduardo Gómez de Tostón, CEO of Alisys, in the newspaper El Comercio.

The total project will involve an outlay of five million euros for the start-up of the plant, which will allow the initial incorporation of a team of 15 people with different profiles. Its expansion will depend on the evolution of demand. Alisys currently has a robotics area with a total of 25 people.

Gavin Kenneally, co-founder and CEO of Ghost Robotics, said that the alliance with Alisys allows the company to expand its technology to new markets. “Our goal is to partner with companies that can offer solid support in terms of production and service development in key markets for the company,” highlighted Kenneally.

Ghost Robotics is a leading US manufacturer of quadruped robotics.
